Trone Gillespie was born February 14, 1980, in Marlboro County to Virginia Mae Gillespie and Roy Hailey (Silvia).
He transitioned his life on October 31, 2021, at McLeod Hospital in Dillon, SC.
He was converted at an early age and joined Syrian Baptist Church of McColl, SC. As he went on in life, he became a member of House of Faith of Clio, SC. He served as the church's First Trustee.
He attended the public schools of Marlboro County and graduated from Adult Ed in the year of 2000. Trone worked as an industrial worker for many years, and as time went on he changed career paths and became a truck driver. Trone started his career working with several companies and later became the owner of his own company, "Gillespie's Trucking."
Trone was known as the class clown. He always kept everyone laughing and smiling. He was really the life of a party. Trone even gave himself the nickname "Rick Ross" due to him being known as the ladies' man. Trone had two cousins who were basically brothers to him, Troy and Quincy Hailey. They were known as "Them Hailey Boys." Whenever you seen one, you seen all three.
Trone will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lora Ann Gillespie.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children: Kelifa Gillespie of Blenheim, SC, Isaiah Gillespie of Rock Hill, SC, Trone Gillespie Jr, Treshawn Gillespie, and Bre' Asia Gillespie of Dillon, SC; two brothers: Lee Gillespie (Gloria) of Charleston, SC and Shawn Bridges of Bennettsville, SC; many nieces and nephews; and as well as a host of other relatives. He leaves behind one special friend, Shanaka Abraham, and many other friends whom he loved dearly.
