Vera Powe Obituary

Ms. Vera Mae Powe, daughter of the late Deacon James and Gladys Powe was born March 15,1942 in Marlboro County, SC.

She attended the Marlboro (Lincoln) County Schools. She worked as a domestic housekeeper and much more for the McInnis Family.

Ms. Vera gave her to Christ an early age where she joined Ebenezer missionary Baptist Church. She was  a faithful member until her health failed.

Ms. Vera was a strong, independent, caring person. A person never had to guess what she was thinking or how she felt about something because she always said exactly what was on her mind.

Ms. Vera was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother until sweet Jesus called her home. She took her last breath of life early Thursday morning, September 17, 2020 at her home in Clio, SC.

Ms. Vera had two brothers Jame Powe, Jr. and Luther Allen: and three sisters Artie Lee Powe, Louisa "Tip" Powe, and Viola Powe Washington to precede her in death. As well as one son, Bobby Dennis Powe.

Ms. Vera leaves to cherish her memories: three beloved daughters Angela Poe, Annie E. Powe, and Lucille Patricia Powe of the home; one son Christopher Powe of Thomasville, NC; eight grandchildren. Crystal (Kelvin) Davis of Florence, SC, Danson Powe of the home, Malottis Davis of Myrtle Beach, Dartavis Powe of the home, Christina Alford of Charleston, SC, Jamesha Powe (caregiver) of the home, Krischelle Powe of Thomasville, NC, and Shania Wilson of Raeford, NC; three great grandchildren Ava Powe of the home and Kaiden & Kaitlyn Davis of Florence, SC. Two Godchildren, Tameka Davis of Clio, SC; three sisters Lucille Powe of Clio, SC, Sarah (Freddie) McRae of Clio, SC, and Doris Watson of Bennettsville, SC; two brothers Michael Louis (Mikasa) Powe of Bennettsville, SC and John Fitzgerald (Angela) Powe of Bennettsville, SC. *A very special niece and nephew, Charlesanna (Keith) Thomas of Laurinburg, NC and Donald (Dorothy) Powe of Dillon, SC. *One step mother, Carrie Campbell of Bennettsville, SC. Five very special friends Hubert McRae, Leona Mae David, Freddie " Duke " Alford, Bobby Woods, and Shirley McLaurin of Laurinburg; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
