Virginia Brown

Mrs. Virginia Brown passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 after a brief illness in McLeod Hospital in Cheraw, SC.

Mrs. Virginia Brown was born on April 15, 1938 to the late Ruth Dukes Pegues and the late Sidney Adams.

Mrs. Virginia was preceded in death by three brothers: Benjamin Dukes, Arthur Pegues, and Lindbergh Pegues.

She attended Marlboro County Schools.

At an early age she joined Zion Methodist Church. She worked at Purdue Farms in Rockingham, NC until her retirement.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her only sister Ms. Daisy Mae Pegues of Fayetteville, NC. Her nieces Lawanda Pegues Young of Fayetteville, NC, Starrie Ann Faulk-Kadelak of Texas, and JoAnn Pegues of NY, NY. Nephews, Harold Lee Pegues of Bennettsville, SC and Jeffery Pegues of Fayetteville, NC. Four great nephews Jeffeon Purvis of Bennettsville, SC, Roshiem Jamel Pegues of Fayetteville, NC, Sergeant Eric Hayes of Tennessee, and Dwan Pegues of NY, NY. Four great nieces Rosnah Shanika Pegues Spann (Jermaine) Khadijah Faulk all of Fayetteville, NC, Kayla Faulk of Sanford, NC, and Trina Pegues of NY, NY. Her very special cousins Ronald “Pop” Horton, Linda Burch, David Chris Horton, and Patricia “Pat” Horton Monroe. Her very special friends, Annie Brody, Donna Kelly, Jarielee, Erlene Ridges, Rev. Doris Helen Brown-Smith, and Margaret Wilson. A host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.
