Willie Fred "Wolf” Evans was born February 7, 1952 in Latta, South Carolina to Lizzie Mae Lide and the late James Brown. Freddie, as he was affectionately known to many, departed this life on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
Freddie attended school in Dillon and Marlboro Counties and was a member of the Blenheim High School class of 1971.
He was a member of the Victory Temple Holiness Church.
In 1972, Freddie was united in holy matrimony to Levon Ward.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Mildred Campbell and his grandmother, Anna Williams.
Freddie leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife, Levon Evans of Blenheim, SC; six sons, Willie Fred Evans, Jr. (Tre'Jon) of Manhattan, NY; Larone Evans (Grishelda), Ohmar Evans (Kela), Keon George, Cedric Simmons, and Joshua Simmons, all of Bennettsville, SC; and one daughter, Sheree Alford of Bennettsville, SC; his mother, Lizzie Mae Lide of Blenheim, SC; one brother, Sargent Major (Retired) Robert G. Lide of El Paso, TX; three sisters, Barbara Jean Eaddy of Latta, SC, Mary Fennell (Dennis) of Bennettsville, SC and Carolyn Lide (Tim) of Blenheim, SC; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers-in-laws, Arthur Campbell of Darlington, Hezekiah Ward (Mary Jo) of Blenheim, SC, Gregory Ward (Maxine) of McColl, Mark Ward (Celeste) of Bennettsville, and William Ward of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sisters-in-law, Connie Covington (John) and Cynthia Louis (Ray); nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
