Willie McRae

With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Willie McRae who departed this life August 5, 2021 in Pinehurst, NC.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at 12 pm  Bethea Funeral Home (exterior).

After a protracted battle with cancer, Willie Lee McRae died on August 5th, 2021 in Pinehurst, NC at the age of 57.

Willie McRae, mostly known as "Twin" was born to the late Levearn and Ailean McRae on January 29, 1964. He attended the public schools in Bennettsville, SC.

He was preceded in death by his father Levearn McRae, stepfather Joe Johnson, and two aunts: Mary Lee Davis, Alice Leola Davis.

Left to cherish his memories his mother Ailean McRae of Clio, SC. His two daughters, Jasmine Bethea of Rockingham, NC and Katrena Stanback of Bennettsville, SC. One son, Willie lee Bethea of Chapin, SC. One sister, Lee Ester McLaurin (Edward) of Clio, SC. Two brothers, Henry Lee McRae of Darlington, SC and Lee Grant McRae of Fayetteville, NC. Four uncles, Nathaniel Davis Jr, James Davis, Charles Davis, and Henry Lee Davis all of New Jersey. Two aunts, Cora Elliot, and Mae Singleton of New Jersey. Seven grandkids; Aaliyah Bethea, Giovanni Parnell Jr, Jayden King, Hakeem Stanback, Quimale Brand, Za’Kira Smith, Kaisen Bethea, and Taisean Bethea. Four nieces: April Bethea, Asia Curtis, Ashley Williams, and Shamekia McRae Prescott (Lajarvis). Three nephews: Antonio McRae, Dean Platt, and Patrick McRae. A host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 Willie loved doing yard work and riding his bike, but nothing more than having a good time with family. He was also known for that big smile and was a great talker. When Willie was with you, he made you feel like you were the most special person to him. He always ended his conversation with I love you and a big smile.
