Rachel (McQueen) Applewhite

On Tuesday, October 11, 2016 following an illness, Rachel M. Applewhite passed away at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, South Carolina surrounded by her loving family and friends. On November, 28, 1963 Rachel was born to the late Gerald and Iris McQueen in Dillon, South Carolina.

Rachel was employed at the United States Postal Service in Dillon, South Carolina until her health declined. She took much pride in her job as a rural carrier, and looked forward to going to work every day.

Rachel really enjoyed family and spending time with them, especially her grandkids.

Rachel gave her life to the Lord in 1998. She really enjoyed going to church and serving the Lord. She joined St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Minturn Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess and youth adviser.

She was  preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Iris McQueen and her twin brother, Richard McQueen.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Tyrone Applewhite of the home; her children, two sons, Braden L. McQueen of Houston, TX and Darrell M. McQueen (April) of Edinburgh, TX; two daughters, Marisha (Jakeem) Bowman of Dillon, SC, and Chencilla Applewhite of the home; six grandchildren, Tamiya, Zaraiye, A’Nilah, Miya, Caeden, and Kh’yre; two sisters, Sharon McQueen of Dillon, SC, and Jacqueline (Johnny) Leonard of Dillon, SC; two brothers, Lewis McQueen and Keith McQueen of New York. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A very special friend cousin Brennta (William) Irick of Columbia, SC.
