Anthony Peterkin

Anthony was born Thursday, October 27, 1977 to Mary Peterkin-Cook and the late Willie “Bill” Williams and was raised in Bennettsville, South Carolina.

 

Anthony accepted Christ at an early age and joined Cedar Fall Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Marlboro County Public Schools. He later received his GED in Ashland, KY.  

 

Growing up Anthony was a very active child he participated in sports such as football, baseball, and basketball and made a great deal of friends. His family and friends grew up calling him Amp, Peterbread or even Pete. Anthony was a warmhearted, funny, spontaneous, thoughtful man who always had great intentions; he was very close to his family especially his siblings and his cousins whom he spoiled faithfully. He never denied anyone of anything if he had it you had it too.

 

Anthony moved and began his life in Columbia where he obtained his CDL and started working as a truck driver. During the years, he went on many trips with friends and family and spent as much time with his kids as he could. Anthony was preceded in death by his father Willie Williams, two aunts Joann Fowlers and Patricia Robinson, uncle Henry Cook and father-in-law Jeffery Fennell.

 

Anthony leaves to cherish his fond memories wife Tachiena Fennell-Peterkin of Columbia, SC, his mother Mary Peterkin-Cook of Bennettsville, SC, seven children Sada Stricklin of Brooklyn, NY,, Zainqkasha Jones of Bennettsville, SC, Karisma Peterkin, Alayassa Peterkin, Kelonte Caughman, and Ziayre Peterkin all of Columbia, SC, and Zyhmir Peterkin of Yemassee, SC, two stepchildren Zireon Fennell and Zidayah Hope of Columbia, SC, one grandchild Savana Stricklin of Brooklyn, NY, four brothers Daniel (Norma) Peterkin of Columbia, SC, Corey Robinson of Cayce, SC, Jahmir and Jahiem Cook of Bennettsville, SC, three sisters Kendra Peterkin of Columbia, SC, LaToya Robinson of Cayce, SC, and Sierra Cook of Bennettsville, SC, one grandmother Mary Cook-Austin of High Point, NC, seven aunts Mildred Richardson, Callie Covington, Henrietta Montgomery, Shirley (James) Wilson, Nellie (Thomas) Allen, Alice McColl and Annie Bell and five uncles Melvin (Ava) Cook, Leroy Williams, Jay Williams, Samuel Williams and Timothy Williams, mother-in-law Christine Ocean, one brother-in-law Derrick Ocean, four sister-in-laws Taniqua Ocean, Sundeana Mixon, Sherika Broddy, and Victoria Adams and godmother Sharon Horsley and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 1:30pm at Berea Baptist Convention Center. Interment will follow in the Cedar Fall Baptist Church Cemetery.
